The tag amenity=blood_bank is used for a blood bank: a facility where blood gathered as a result of blood donation is stored and preserved for later use in blood transfusion. These facilities are often found in a hospital or medical centre.

This tag has been used most commonly in India, where it is mainly used for Red Cross, Hospital and government blood bank facilities, and has been sourced from "OpenGovernmentData".

The similar tag healthcare=blood_bank has also been used. It is less common overall but has been used in a few more places than amenity=blood_bank.

For a facility where members of the public can donate blood, see healthcare=blood_donation

How to map

Create a node at the center of the blood bank and tag it with amenity=blood_bank and name=*.

If the entire area of the blood bank is known, it can be mapped as an area.
